The Season of lent and easter

Lenten blessings to you. Today is Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent. Lent is a season for being intentional about practicing spiritual disciplines, which enable us to draw closer to Christ in the weeks leading up to Holy Week, Good Friday and Easter.

I have attached to this email a Lent devotional you can use at home this year entitled Practicing Jesus' Seven Last Words. It works both for those on their own, for couples and families. It has been created by Rev. Konnie Vissers, who is part of the Knox Waterdown congregation (just up the road from Grimsby). I hope this is a blessing to you on your Lenten journey this year. I have pasted the Ash Wednesday devotion into this email you to give you a sense of this very thoughtful work which has been put together. I look forward to walking through it with my family, and I encourage you to take a look at it as well.

I look forward to journeying with you through Lent. As a congregation we begin our observation of Lent by celebrating communion this Sunday morning in worship.
